Nuala Mahon

Sherkin Island is an island off the coast of Ireland. It measures 5km by 3km and is home to approximately 100 people. It has some of the most beautiful beaches in the area. Over the past couple of years more and more plastic debris is washed ashore from the Atlantic Ocean. As Nuala Mahon observed this, she began to ask herself how she was contributing to this tsunami of plastic that was ending up in the ocean. Nuala decided to collect and photograph her weekly plastic for twelve months.
