Like all contemporary capitalist societies China’s economy is structured around the appetite for cheap consumer goods. Distribution is one of the largest sectors in the Chinese economy, but also a major contributing factor to global emissions. In major cities across China, migrant workers from China’s rural regions work as couriers delivering consumer goods to houses on the back of scooters. These are some images I made of workers in the Pudong area of Shanghai.
